Look-later functions (social bookmarking)
Ability to 'look-later' or bookmark library documents - this could also inform rankings - bookmarks could be used as a quasi-ratings systems.

Build in 'rewards' for completing member profiles
We want various online incentives for completing member profiles, like badges, % profile completion, or points. Conversely, think it's so important that we want to consider 'penalties', too - e.g. auto-reminders to complete, % profile completion visible to all members, not full membership rights (e.g. download rights) without a minimum completion level

Within a principle of openness, the ability to maintain private CoPs
We like the idea of creating more openness and permeability in communities, but don't want to lose the ability to have private communities for sensitive topics. Where communities are private need to have greater control over what's visible via a CoP landing page

Use your LinkedIn profile as your profile information
Instead of maintaining profiles in a whole bunch of places, can we use LinkedIn as a way of sharing our professional profiles on the Knowledge Hub?

Events: much greater functionality - should be able to share feedback and docs afterwards
Currently, when an event date is passed the event disappears. We want to be able to connect slides, documents, feedback on the event, etc to an event so that people who could attend can find docs electronically and those that couldn't can see what happened.

Automatic indexing of documents
it's hard to find older documents now - we want an automatic index of documents to be created which can be sorted by relevant CoP, by tag, date, author (or posted by), subject, title, and by popularity (likes, downloads) etc. etc.

Ability to apply multiple themes and sub-themes
Basically apply multiple themes across all items of content (not just documents) and sub-themes. For example - efficiency as a major theme, but procurement, charging, etc as sub-themes.

Address the duplication in e-mail notifications
Current e-mail notifications show multiple entries for comments on a post and also, where you're a member of >1 CoP, the same things time and time again - it would make life quicker and easier if this were to be addressed, plus it would make people more likely to access via the links.

Auto-reminders for ratings
If someone's downloaded a document, we'd like an auto-reminder sent 'was this document useful' encouraging them to complete a review

More reassurance and support for first time users
More auto-help or mouse-over help particualrly for first time users. Like the microsoft paperclip, but much less annoying.

Permeable communities
We like the idea of being able to share content and membership over much more fluid CoP boundaries, because there is a lot of cross-over of interest. While still maintaining a focus on particular programme areas.

Evernote style personal knowledge management tools
Some way for users to easily record snippets of information, URLs, images etc which they can then share (or not) with the rest of the community.

For facilitators: greater ability to search membership by region, council and type
We'd like to be able to search through membership to identify members AND activities by region, council and council type. This would help us follow up on good practice and share regional good practice more effectively

Better links to IDeA website
We want relevant sections on the IDeA website to auto-update with content from relevant communities and better links in to communities about what's on our corporate website

Easy and flexible web publishing
Make it easy for users to publish any content they want on a publicly accessible web page - not not necessarily a forum or blog post, or a wiki page. Also not necessarily tied to one, or more than one, community. Lot's of people in the public sector are limited in the flexibility they have to publish content online using their organisation's CMS etc.
